Storms leave damage in SE Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas

JOPLIN, Mo. (KSNW) — The same storm system that pushed through western and Central Kansas Friday has left behind damage in Southeast Kansas, Southwest Missouri, Northeast Oklahoma, and Northwest Arkansas.

Our sister station, KSNF in Joplin, reports crews are busy restoring power that has been knocked out to much of the area. Winds have left behind significant damage across the region.

Bird rescued as hail pounded Larned Friday

The National Weather Service in Tulsa reported trees measuring up to eight inches in diameter were downed in Miami County, Oklahoma. Damage is also reported in Benton County, an area that saw significant damage back in May when an EF2 Tornado struck Rogers and Beaver Lake .

Arkansas’ governor has declared a state of disaster emergency for her state. So far, there have been no reports of any injuries or deaths related to the storms.
