Red Cross offering training for disaster response volunteers in Missouri

MISSOURI (KOAM) — The American Red Cross of Southern Missouri is set to host trainings for new disaster response volunteers.

According to Red Cross, disaster response volunteers are typically the first people at a disaster scene who provide comfort and direct assistance to help those affected. Red Cross says anyone who is interested in responding to local disasters like home fires, floods, or tornadoes.

The training will take place on August 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southern Missouri Chapter, 1545 N West Bypass, Springfield, Missouri.
