One lane of westbound Highway 60 to close for sign installation

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — One lane of westbound U.S. Route 60 will be closed starting tomorrow while crews install signs over the road.

Starting Sept. 5, contractors will be installing truss signs as part of the U.S. Route 60 widening project between National Avenue and Kansas Expressway, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). The far-right auxiliary lane will be closed between Campbell and Kansas while work is being completed.

The center-right lane of westbound Route 60 will be used as the auxiliary lane to Kansas Expressway. Drivers will need to follow signed detours or find alternate routes to avoid the work zone.

MoDOT says work is expected to be finished by Sept. 20.
