JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) – Missouri Governor Mike Parson awarded a Greene County deputy one of 31 Medal of Valor honors. At about 10 a.m. on April 23, 2023, Corporal Travis Sanders responded to an isolated rural area in Greene County after a man wearing an ankle monitor left a suicide note for his family and made a suicidal statement. The man said he intended to kill himself rather than go back to prison.
