Springfield man found guilty in quadruple murder case

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After two days of deliberation, a Greene County jury found Scott Goodwin-Bey guilty Thursday in one of Springfield’s deadliest mass shootings — a 2014 quadruple homicide in a northside motel room.

Goodwin-Bey was found guilty on four counts of first-degree murder.

Police say Goodwin-Bey shot and killed Christopher Freeman, Danielle Keyes, Trevor Fantroy, and Lewis Green in Room 149 at the Economy Inn on North Glenstone on Nov. 15, 2014.

Defense attorney Chris Hatley told OzarksFirst earlier this week he would appeal any conviction.

Since the prosecution did not pursue the death penalty, Goodwin-Bey will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on the first-degree murder convictions.
