Two men arrested for armed robbery in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Springfield police arrested two men accused of committing an armed robbery on East Kearney Street on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Online court records state that 20-year-old Dakota Mitchell from Clever and 18-year-old Marcus Hill from Springfield are both charged with first-degree robbery. Hill has also been charged with resisting arrest and armed criminal action.

According to the probable cause statement, the juvenile victim said Mitchell texted him about owing him $100. The victim met with Mitchell, who brought Hill and a third unidentified suspect, at the 1000 block of East Kearney Street at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The victim told police the three suspects got into his car with Hill trying to sell him a handgun but he refused. Hill then allegedly pointed the gun at his abdomen and the victim felt the two other suspects in the back of the car point a gun at him. Mitchell demanded he give $555 in cash to Hill and threatened to kill him if he called the police.
