Saturday, September 21 Forecast: Going from warm to wet

Wow, yesterday was hot. Despite being a week and a half away from October, we experienced high temperatures in the upper 90s. It’s still going to be hot for today, but thankfully not as bad.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s for both today and tomorrow. A pinch of humidity can make it feel even warmer outside.

We will have some chances of much-needed rainfall for this weekend. Today won’t be a complete washout, but rather a series of hit-or-miss showers.

The better chance of getting hit with rain will be later in the evening as scattered storms are expected to develop carrying the potential of heavy rainfall. More widespread rain will be occurring on Sunday with frontal passage.

A cold frontal will push through the Ozarks Sunday night sweeping away our warmth and returning rainfall. Severe storms will be possible, especially for areas North of I-44. Rainfall can linger for Monday morning before gradually clearing throughout the day.

Temperatures return to fall-like levels during the work week. Say goodbye to summer as high temperatures will be trapped in the 70s next week.
