Springfield mayor gets award, Mercy gets new COO and The Library sells lots of books

Springfield mayor honored with MML award

Springfield Mayor Ken McClure was honored Tuesday with the Missouri Municipal League’s Distinguished Service Award, which honors a current or former Missouri municipal official who has made outstanding contributions to the league and the cities of Missouri.

“The selection committee considers enthusiasm and dedication, and outstanding leadership,” said Richard Sheets, Director of Missouri Municipal League. “Mayor McClure has an outstanding history of public service and leadership on municipal issues.”

McClure was first elected mayor in April 2017 and reelected three times; his fourth and final term ends in 2025. He was previously elected to a City Council seat in April 2015.

Mercy hires Warwick as COO

Mercy Springfield it has hired Taylor Warwick as its new chief operating officer, effective Sept. 16. Warwick most recently served as COO for Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit and said her time working in Kansas City gave her a special appreciation for the importance of connecting a growing community with health care that meets patient needs.
