Endangered SILVER advisory cancelled, missing Springfield man found and safe

UPDATE 9/26/2024 — The Endangered SILVER Advisory has been cancelled for Joseph Ewing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says he has been found and is safe.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — An Endangered SILVER Advisory has been issued for a Springfield man with several medical conditions.

According to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), 75-year-old Joseph Arthur Ewing went missing from a motel at around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Ewing is diagnosed with dementia, high blood pressure, heart and lung conditions and has had recent stroke activity, MSHP said.

Law enforcement are uncertain which direction Ewing was heading, but was on foot and without his medications.

Ewing is about five feet, seven inches tall, weighs around 150 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white hoodie and gray pants. MSHP says Ewing is also blind in his left eye.

Anyone who sees Ewing or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-862-7911.
