Take a tour of the Jordan Creek tunnels

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The current tours for the Jordan Creek tunnels might be the last ones before the Renew Jordan Creek construction begins.

Project starts soon to create waterfront property in downtown Springfield

The James River Basin Partnership is hosting Jordan Creek tours from Sept. 25 to Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.

Each tour will consist of a tour of the tunnels along with the history of the area.

Explorers must be 18 or older.

“Participants will want to bring a flashlight or headlamp, boots or other sturdy, close-toed shoes they’re ok with getting wet. Depending on water levels, it’s sometimes possible to go in without getting shoes wet, but definitely easier to be in boots,” said the James River Basin Partnership Facebook page.
