Drury Volleyball drops at Lewis in four sets

SPRINGFIELD, Mo – Drury Volleyball fell to Lewis, 3-1 on the second day of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play. Lewis maintained the first set the whole time, but never by enough to make it feel like they were safe. The Flyers went up 16-10 and Drury kept on battling to keep it close by falling 25-21. The second set was a coin flip on who was going to win at the end, the Panther went on a 7-2 run to narrow their deficit to one at the 14-13 mark. A few punches back and forth for both teams led to Lewis falling and Drury winning, 26-24. Drury rode the momentum into the third set, starting off with a 3-0 advantage. Lewis kicked it in gear and went on to ride the wave and win 25-18. The fourth and final set was Flyers for the whole time. Drury held the lead twice at 3-1 and 4-3. The Flyers took the final set, 25-11. Mailie Chretien led the way for the Panthers with 13 kills, three service aces, and 12 digs. Kyla Club had 11 kills of her own. Lauren Tyler recorded 33 assists and 16 digs. Kim Quinit had 21 digs from the Libero position. Off the bench, Kennedy Outler had four block assists, leading Drury.
