Missing Texas baby found safe in Missouri, AMBER Alert discontinued. Parents charged

The AMBER Alert for a six-month-old child has been discontinued. Hours after the baby went missing from North Texas, she was located unharmed in Missouri. Her parents now face charges, officials say.

Prior to her discovery near Springfield, Missouri, the infant had been last seen in Rockwall, Texas early Monday morning. She was found with her biological parents, according to an update from Rockwall police posted just after 11 a.m. Monday.

The infant had been taken from her Texas foster home by her biological parents — who are lost their parental rights, the update explained. Missouri Highway Patrol found the child and her parents east of Springfield, Missouri.

In a previous update reported by WFAA , detectives investigating the case “developed a high level of confidence” that the child’s biological parents were responsible for her disappearance, after learning they had recently lost parental rights.

Police have said both parents — Margaret Van Aken, 21, and Dakota Brady, 26 — face pending criminal charges, but specifics of those charges were not disclosed.
