UPDATE 8:25 PM – All northbound lanes on National Avenue have reopened, according to SPD.
UPDATE 7:46 PM – Springfield Police confirmed that one person was found dead with a gunshot wound after a crash near the intersection of National Avenue and Primrose Street.
According to OzarksTraffic, all northbound lanes at National Lane between James River Freeway and Primrose Street and westbound James River Freeway to National Avenue remain closed.
Police say a truck was southbound on National when the truck split lanes and appeared to hit two other vehicles. Authorities found the driver of the truck slumped in the seat with a gunshot wound to the head.
The shot came from a gun inside the driver’s truck, but the circumstances around how the gun went off are still undetermined at this time.
