MoDOT reaching final stages of James River Freeway widening project

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – MoDOT is in the final phases of its James River Freeway widening project. There’s still a lot to do, but they expect to be done soon. “We’re going into the final phase of this over the next couple of weeks. We’re going to be finishing up our concrete barrier median, and then our next phase will be to bring traffic from the outside lanes to the middle lanes across the bridge. And this allows us to finish out the surface at the bridge and put in new approaches coming into the bridge,” said Brad Gripka, resident engineer with MoDOT.
