Thursday, October 3 forecast: Warming close to records to round out the week

Hopefully you enjoyed the mild weather the past few days because today will be warm enough to chase records.

Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s to low 90s today. The sun will continue to beat down as it has all week long and it won’t go away anytime soon.

The good news out of this is that while it will be hot the next few days it won’t be humid. The bad news is that we still have no chance of rain.

A weak cold front will pass by unnoticed on Friday except for a brief wind shift. A stronger cold front will blow through on Sunday and will help bring temperatures back down to the 70s early next week.

The monthly outlook for October suggests not much change in the general pattern. Largely, the Ozarks are expected to stay warmer and drier than usual for the month.
