Lawrence County deputy’s mother killed in Marionville crash

MARIONVILLE, Mo. — A woman is dead and another person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marionville on Saturday, October 5.

According to Aurora and Marionville Police Chief Wes Coatney , officers were notified just after 4 p.m. of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Highway 60 and Lincoln.

One of the drivers in the crash, 69-year-old Debbie Brink, was taken to a hospital in Springfield via helicopter, where she later passed away due to her injuries.

Brink was the mother of a Lawrence County deputy. Chief Coatney says that deputy was assisting with the crash that involved his mother.

“It’s our nightmare to end up on scene with loved ones, but a real possibility that happens sometimes,” Chief Coatney said in a Facebook post. “We at AMPD and all agencies in our area are praying for this family and are on standby if there is anything we can do for him and his family. An unspeakable tragedy.”
