Thriller on C-Street returns for 15th year

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – For the last 15 years, people have gathered along historic Commercial Street for a performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Local businesses say that the yearly performance is something they look forward to.

“Thousands and thousands of people come out on the street for the parade and then the dance, and it’s just it’s packed,” Hannah Herzog said. “This whole area gets full and out the door and we make the most money we do all year. So, it’s this is really fun, and it feels very like small town busy.”

The Thriller On C-street performance will be broken up into four with stops at Campbell and Boonville, Boonville and Robberson, again between Robberson and Jefferson and the final performance between Jefferson and Benton.

Herzog works at Big Mommas Coffee and says she requests to work this day every year.

“I just like it because so many of the like the dancers out here, they practice all year and they all go all out with their makeup and they’re zombies and there’s some zombies in here right now,” Herzog said. “And I love seeing them come in and we just get to see all the looks and everyone’s really happy and excited.”
