As a short-handed Mizzou struggled to keep up with Auburn on Saturday at Memorial Stadium, its starting quarterback was in the dark. Senior quarterback Brady Cook, who exited the game early in the first quarter with an ankle injury, sat in a local hospital as backup Drew Pyne piloted the offense. While there, in a room where electronics were not permitted, Cook waited to receive an MRI and had no idea of how the host Tigers were faring in their annual Homecoming game.
