A New Orleans man has died following an accident at Sunshine Street and Grant Avenue Sunday evening, according to the Springfield Police Department.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Grant Avenue and Sunshine Street around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
Andrew Carroll, 25, of New Orleans, was riding a motorcycle west on Sunshine Street, according to SPD. Darian Dark, 28, of Springfield was driving an SUV east on Sunshine Street when he made a left turn onto Grant Avenue. Carroll collided with Dark’s vehicle in the intersection, according to SPD.

Carroll died at the scene. This is Springfield’s 20th fatal motor vehicle crash in 2024.
