A boundary will nose southward through Missouri today causing temperatures not to be quite as hot, but still warm. Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas will still see temperatures around 80° while Central Missouri will be cooler in the low to mid-70s.

Aside from the warm weather, we are also extremely dry. Today marks day 30 without any rain in Springfield tying us for 3rd place for the longest dry streak on record.

Scattered rain and an isolated thunderstorm are possible again this Friday morning with a cold front, but likely not nearly enough to cause any meaningful impact on our drought. The best chances for rain on Friday morning are in West-Central Missouri where .10″ to .25″ of rain is possible.

Cooler weather will follow Friday’s front with more of a fall feel through the weekend.
