Two men who vanished on way to doctor found dead near flooded vehicle, Missouri cops say

The bodies were discovered of two men who went missing while driving to a doctor’s appointment in Missouri, authorities say.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Rousan and Robert DeClue , of Dixon, were driving to Springfield on Thursday, Nov. 7, for an appointment. Springfield is about a 100-mile drive southwest from Dixon.

When Rousan’s wife was unable to make contact with her husband, she called authorities and provided a description of the vehicle he was driving, the sheriff said.

That vehicle, according to the sheriff, was found abandoned along Cave Road, which runs near the Gasconade River. Authorities said the vehicle had water and mud inside it.

Loved ones said the friends left Dixon when it was dark at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, and it wasn’t until 1:30 a.m. the next morning when the vehicle was found.

Four hours after the discovery of the vehicle, DeClue’s body was found about 40 yards away, the sheriff said. Rousan was found dead nine hours later.

Authorities did not state a potential cause of death, but loved ones said they were driving on a road that often floods.
