Forecast Discussion: “Historic” storm system arriving tomorrow

Unfortunately, the title isn’t clickbait. The National Weather Service office in Springfield is sounding the alarm of “ historic fire weather conditions .”

We can see sustained winds of 30-40mph with powerful gusts that can exceed 60mph. To put that in perspective, low-end EF-0 tornados have winds of 65 mph.
