One person was pronounced dead in a vehicle fire early Thursday morning, according to a news release from the Springfield Fire Department.
Around 1 a.m., the fire department responded to a report of a car on fire at a parking lot in the 700 block of West Atlantic Street. The fire was contained to the vehicle, according to the press release, and while attempting to put out the fire, firefighters found a person still inside the vehicle.
