SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A Springfield man has been sentenced in connection with a deadly robbery gone wrong in 2023.
According to court records, on Friday Jurvez Hicks entered a plea agreement with the state and pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter. Hicks will serve seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
The incident happened in July 2023 at a convenience store near Kansas Expressway and I-44. Police say Hicks showed interest in buying a laptop. Investigators say 46-year-old Gary Barlow attempted to sell a computer to Hicks outside of a convenience store, but Hicks grabbed the computer and began speeding away without paying…
