Friday April 4th Forecast: One more large wave of thunderstorms expected

Today, we recorded an impressive 3.83 inches of rain, shattering the previous rainfall record for this date.

As expected, flooding is a widespread concern across the Ozarks. However, there is a brief respite tonight as the rain is expected to stop before another round of thunderstorms arrives.

For those in Northern Arkansas, be prepared for early morning rumbles of thunder. Thunderstorms will move across the state line and reach Springfield a few hours after sunrise, continuing into the midday hours.

Expect lightning, heavy rainfall, and a slight chance of hail. At this time, I don’t anticipate any severe weather tomorrow.

By the afternoon, rain will become more scattered, with most areas having a better chance of staying dry. Springfield could see an additional inch of rain, with heavier totals expected further south.

On Sunday morning, light rain and possibly some snowfall are possible. However, I don’t expect any accumulation as the ground will remain too warm.

Temperatures will gradually warm up throughout the work week, starting in the low 60s on Monday and reaching the 70s by Friday…
