SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3)—The first of three volunteer events in Nixa is this Saturday morning.
It starts at 9 a.m. at the Gardens of Woodfield. Volunteers will clean up the park, spread fresh mulch, weed flower beds, and more. The parks and recreation team has had help with the park clean-up in the past, but this is the first year they’re asking the community to volunteer.
“So we have found that working with volunteer groups, one, they get a kick out of getting their hands dirty in the parks, while at the same time beautifying the parks and when you can accomplish so much with a group of volunteers in a short amount of time, it just really helps the department keep our parks beautiful for the city,” said Nixa Parks Department Director Matt Crouse…
