Driver charged for a hit-and-run in downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A Springfield woman is facing charges for a hit-and-run in May 2024.

Officers doing a foot patrol at night saw a car hit a skateboarder at Patton Avenue and Walnut Street and then take off. Officers found the car in a parking lot not far from the intersection of South Campbell Avenue and Pershing Street. Court records show Tammy Spriggs had bloodshot/glassy eyes and a faint odor of alcohol and marijuana. Spriggs told an officer she had drunk a wine cooler and had smoked two blunts.

The Springfield Police Department received lab results from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Thursday, which showed Spriggs had a blood alcohol content of .083%; the legal limit in Missouri is 0.08%. Investigators are waiting for results from a drug test…
