SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A woman in Greene County could have lost thousands of dollars in a scam if it wasn’t for a quick thinking bank teller and settings on her account. The family reached out to On Your Side asking to share their story.
Linda Samuel got a call from a so-called Commissioner with the Federal Trade Commission. She was told a scammer stole her identity, and he could fix it.
“He was there to help her get a new Social Security number set up,” said her son, Dwight Samuel. “And would get all of her financial accounts tied to a new number.”…
