Strong storms damage homes, businesses, & trees throughout southwest Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A line of strong storms damaged homes and uprooted trees across the Ozarks on Tuesday morning.

The storms hit the Lawrence and Barry Counties area around 9 a.m. The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings, which included the Springfield metro. Assessment teams have not confirmed any tornadoes. The line of storms at times packed winds around 100 miles per hour.

The storm damaged a building in Monett and buildings in the Nixa area. The strong winds uprooted trees throughout the area, and many of the trees fell on roads…
