SPRINGFIELD–As we inch closer to July 1, so does Missouri State officially joining Conference USA. 14 of the 19 school sponsored sports will start competing against new rivals this fall, and that means a new kind of athlete will be needed to succeed.
As the Bears welcome all challengers across the board, it will give coaches the chance to evaluate their team’s skillset, and how much improvement they might need to make, both strategically and on the recruiting trail, to compete at the new, Division I level.
The phrase, “getting bigger, faster, and stronger,” is no slight to current MSU athletes, just an honest understanding that to succeed at the next level, it will require even sharper talent…
