Kansas-Missouri Heatwave: 90°+ Highs, Overnight Lows in 70s Prompt Advisory Through Sunday

Springfield, Missouri – Drivers, outdoor workers, and vulnerable residents across central and southern Missouri face a high risk of heat exhaustion through 10 p.m. Sunday, as dangerous heat index values climb above 105 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, a Heat Advisory is in effect for east-central Kansas through much of central and south-central Missouri, including Springfield, Lebanon, Osage Beach, Clinton, and Nevada. Afternoon highs will hit the lower 90s, with heat indices ranging from 95 to 105°F. Overnight relief will be minimal, as temperatures dip only into the low- to mid-70s.
