Numerous sub-severe thunderstorms pushed through this afternoon, dumping heavy rainfall in localized pockets. While the west side of Springfield saw only light rainfall, the east side of town picked up over 1″ of rain in less than half an hour.
Flash Flood Warnings have been issued for Greene and Barton counties in the wake of these heavy rains. Warnings last until 4:15pm. Light rain will be possible for the next few hours; however, the heaviest of the rain has concluded. More thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
