OZARK, Mo. – With summer in full swing, ambulances and EMTs in Christian County are working around the clock, responding to a wide range of emergencies.
The Christian County Ambulance District (CCAD) provides a 24/7 lifeline for people in crisis, and crews are facing tough work in challenging conditions.
“We see and do a lot of things on this job that not everybody’s cut out for,” said Christie Thompson, director of the Christian County Ambulance District. “It truly takes a special individual. It takes a lot of not physical strength, but mental strength and emotional strength to be able to do this profession on a day-to-day basis over several years.”…
