Fellows Lake appeals for public to respect wetland habitats after two people caused damage

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Two individuals damaged one of the floating wetland habitats at Fellows Lake last weekend, according to a Fellows Lake social media post on Friday, June 27.

The post said the wetlands are “delicate” and are carefully constructed aquatic habitats designed to improve water quality. Fellows Lake asks the public to not climb on the wetlands or tie boats to them.

Fellows Lake also reminded visitors that swimming is strictly prohibited at the lake. Security will be actively enforcing all lake rules, which can be reviewed here.
