Power outage impacts Springfield’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) – Following this week’s destructive storm and widespread power outages in Springfield, Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore closed for a third consecutive day.

Store employees say the high winds damaged a portion of the building. Winds pushed in a portion of the building’s base and snapped structural bolts. Although the affected area is small, safety remains a top priority, and the store cannot reopen to the public until the repairs are complete.

The ReStore is Habitat’s primary source of funding for affordable home construction and critical repairs across the Springfield area. Each day closed translates into a significant financial loss that delays building efforts for families counting on affordable housing…
