Midtown old-fashioned 4th of July celebration

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield’s largest historic district is celebrating Independence Day with its 34th annual old-fashioned parade and party in Washington Park.

The parade had plenty of floats, old-fashioned cars, marching groups, and the Midtown Victorian Drill Team also known as the Midtown Suffragettes.

Following the parade, the celebration continues where the Springfield Police Department’s “Cold Patrol” was passing out free ice cream, there were free yard games, and free lemonade to keep everyone cool…
