A steamy summer pattern delivered a round of scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening, and it looks like a blueprint that Mother Nature will be following over the next several days.
Heavy rainfall was the main challenge with Sunday’s storms, with pockets of heavy rainfall producing localized areas of flooding and street flooding. Areas near I-44 and along and east of Hwy. 65 were blanketed with as much as 3 to 5″ of rain, resulting in street flooding that required road closures and water rescues in a few spots.
