Medical professionals say pneumonia cases in adults increasing in some parts of Southwest Mo.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Medical professionals detail how pneumonia cases in adults ages 30-60 years old are increasing in some parts of the Ozarks.

Kaisha Hooper is a nurse practitioner with Citizens Memorial Hospital. Hooper said there could be a variety of reasons as to why she’s seeing an increase in pneumonia cases this time of year.

“We’re in the summer months with travel and holidays. We’re gathering in close proximity with others. I think all these factors are playing in why we’re seeing such a spike in pneumonia cases this summer,” Hooper said…
