SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – If you’ve been itching or scratching lately, chances are, you’ve been spending time outside. Whether you’re headed to the pool, lake, or just doing yard work, it’s important to take care of your skin.
Cindy Griessel, a physician assistant with Mercy, said she is seeing a lot of patients right now for bug bites, rashes, and skin irritations. She said a good place to start is to wear long sleeves and pants while doing outside projects.
“Keeping our skin covered and if we’re exposed to things, being sure to wash our hands,” said Griessel. “The biggest thing to be worried about with rashes and bites is if the redness spreads and you and start to feel acutely ill, you need to seek medical care because any rash or bite can become infected.”…
