Avery McLaughlin’s final appearance in the Junior Girls’ Four-State Championship ended just how she hoped it would – with Team Missouri winning.
McLaughlin, who will play at University of Richmond this fall, helped Team Missouri claim its second consecutive Junior Girls’ Four-State Championship title. Team Missouri edged out Kansas by just half a point in a dramatic final-day finish at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas.
“Playing in this event has been a goal of mine each year because it is something that is unique to the normal schedule of golf,” said McLaughlin, a Visitation Academy graduate. “I personally love the challenge of playing match play and I think it is even more exciting to represent your state.”…
