NIXA, Mo. — A Springfield man was arrested over the weekend after fleeing from police.
According to the Nixa Police Department’s Facebook page, Blake L. Gentry, 18, is facing charges of aggravated fleeing a stop, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and driving without a valid license.
On July 13, around 3:30 a.m., a Nixa Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue hatchback speeding at 70 mph in a 50 mph zone near Massey Boulevard and Tracker Road. The driver, Gentry, allegedly refused to stop and accelerated at high speeds.

Police say Gentry turned off the vehicle’s lights, drove off-road at a dead end in Highlandville and reentered traffic on Highway 160. The vehicle would eventually drive into a ditch, where Gentry allegedly fled on foot and attempted to enter another driver’s vehicle.
With help from Nixa Police drones and K9 units from Ozark and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Gentry was found hiding in a creek bed around 5 a.m…
