Missouri woman pleads guilty in $116K+ lottery fraud scheme

MISSOURI — A Mount Vernon woman pleads guilty to her role in a wire fraud conspiracy that targeted the Missouri Lottery Commission and an area gas station.

This morning in federal court, Amy Young, 42, admitted to using stolen and fraudulent credit cards and numbers at a Joplin gas station to purchase lottery tickets.

She said she and her fellow co-conspirators made more than $62,082.50 in July and August of 2022.

Young said they would buy the tickets using the stolen cards, then have someone else go in and collect the winnings from the tickets…
