Judge sentences woman to 30 days in jail for deadly crash killing Drury University student in May of 2021

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A Greene County judge sentenced an Ozark woman, accused of causing a deadly crash in May of 2021.

Marjorie Dewitt entered an Alford plea to lesser charges of careless and imprudent driving as well as tampering with evidence involving a crash that killed Mercedes Luna. She was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter.

An Alford plea means she did not admit guilt but admitted there is enough evidence for a conviction. The judge sentenced her to 30 days in jail. She reported to jail on Tuesday…
