Grant funding available to combat food insecurity in Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Grant funding for programs aiming to combat food insecurity in Missouri is now available.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture states that these funds are intended to support the creation of a thriving local food system. So, projects aiming to expand local food products may apply for up to $50,000.

This grant has funded many of the Springfield Community Gardens and helps farmers continue to maintain their crops with improved wages. It has also paid for the gardens’ pack shed, high tunnels, many of their urban farms, and the community fridges…
