Springfield-Greene County Health Department inspects food vendors at Ozark Empire Fair

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Springfield-Greene County Health Department inspected the favorites fairgoers will taste at the Ozark Empire Fair.

Health leaders inspect each vendor every year. The health department has a three-strike policy in place for food vendors. After a third strike, booths must be closed for at least 24 hours to resolve the issue.

“We work with them and monitor temperatures during our inspections throughout the day,” said Eric Marcol of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. “And make sure that everyone has a good position and they’re equipped to prepare and serve food safely.”…
