SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield Public Schools (SPS) announced a new cell phone policy for the 2025-26 school year as a part of the new state law.
Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Senate Bill 68 in July, which states students will not be allowed to use their personal cell phones “from the beginning of the school day until the end of the school day.”
In compliance with the state law, SPS students will not be permitted to use personal electronic devices during the school day. Devices must be turned off, stored in backpacks and remain out of sight for the entirety of the day. This also includes during breaks, lunch and study hall as well…
