SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Construction is underway on a new boardwalk at the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield.
The old boardwalk closed several years ago after it was deemed unsafe. Its replacement is scheduled to open in early 2026. When that happens, zoo visitors will have an elevated view of the black bear and swift fox enclosures. It will also save guests about a quarter-mile walk as they tour the Missouri habitat section of the zoo.
