Springfield launches August Greene Goosechase challenges

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — It is officially August and Springfield Environmental Services has posted a brand new set of challenges and missions in its year long Greene Goosechase.

August is centered around the back-to-school season, eco-education, and never being too old to learn something new. This month’s challenges include using Springfield’s Waste Wizard and learning more about Springfield’s green infrastructure like floating wetlands and finding examples in the community.

In the first week of the new challenges, Laurie Davis, Education Outreach Coordinator with Environmental Services, says they have seen many people completing challenges and they have around 200 teams signed up to compete.

This month’s prize for the team with the most points is 4 tickets to the Dickerson Park Zoo and a $50 gift card for the cafe or gift shop. Second place will receive a bundle of field guides to continue learning…
