US Navy in Springfield and Branson this week to showcase their branch of the military

The Army and Air Force have a well-established presence in Missouri, but the Navy is not ignoring the Show-Me State, in particular the southwestern Ozarks.

The maritime branch of the U.S. Armed Services is bringing Navy Week to the Springfield and Branson areas Monday, Aug. 25th through Sunday, Aug. 31st. Lt. Commander Caroline Ready is Executive Officer at the U.S. Navy’s Office of Community Outreach. She told Missourinet how Navy Week works:

“We are bringing sailors from across the fleet to places (in the U.S.) that don’t have a strong naval presence, educating the public on all the things that we do, and why the Navy is so important,” Ready said…
