Springfield, Mo. – Labor Day weekend in the Ozarks will bring mild temperatures and increasing chances of rain, with the best opportunity for widespread showers arriving on Monday. Drivers and holiday travelers could encounter wet roads during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, scattered showers will remain limited on Sunday, mostly across far western Missouri and southeast Kansas, with only a 20–50% chance of rain. By Monday, however, rain chances expand to 30–60% across much of southwest Missouri, including Springfield, Branson, and Joplin.
Temperatures through the weekend will stay seasonable, with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s and overnight lows dropping into the low to mid-60s. Winds remain light out of the southeast at 5–10 mph.
